I woke up at around 6:45 to 7:00. The first thing I did was go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. After that, I got my clothes out for school, got dressed at 7:30, and ate oatmeal for breakfast. I got to school at 8:00 A.M and when I got there I played basketball on the big courts. My friends made team captain, so I was in charge of picking the teams. The score of the game was 10 to 6. We only had about 10 or 15 minutes to play. At 8:20 the bell rang, my classmates and I sat down until Mr. Coley opened the door. Mr. Coley opened the door and we got our homework out, and then, we moved into D.M.A.

 

In D.M.A we learned about the Navajo Indians. We had two sentences about Donna and Brice talking about the Navajo Indians. The first sentence Donna said,Ē Brice, I must have misunderstood you.Ē The second sentence was, Then she added, ďWerenít the Navajos the best weavers of all. There were lots of mistakes in those sentences when we did them at school. Next we moved into the analogies. Our first analogy was huge : _____ :: vast : tiny.  Huge and vast go together and blank and tin go together. The answer to this analogy was wee which means tiny or microscopic and some other words that mean the same as tiny. Our next analogy was diskette : _____ :: record : phonograph. The analogies that go together are diskette which means a floppy disk and the blank and record and phonograph which means a record player. The answer to this analogy was computer. I got both wrong because the first one I put small, but tiny is smaller than small and for the second one I put VCR. Moving on to geography. In geography our question was how tall is Californiaís Mt. Whitney. My answer was 14,495. My answer was correct. Once that was done we moved into spelling.

 

In spelling we did a word scramble. I love when we do word scrambles because Mr. Coley read them funny. Some of the words sound French. But before we did spelling we checked in our home work. Our homework was of course the word scramble, our math, and lots of signed tests. When we finished we played a game called Define it. In this game you need to have a clear dice that you can see threw. You need it clear because thereís a smaller dice inside the clear one. Then the dice rolls a number and we have to define the vocabulary word. Some rows are bonus rows. For example if there were two bonus rows I would pick the 30s and the 60s. If you roll the dice in any 30 or 60 row you double the points. In our class we have three tables, so we have three sets of table points. The score right now is 26 to 26 to 23. My table is losing. After that we moved into writing.

 

In writing were writing an essay. The essay is called a persuasive essay. Persuade means to convince the person reading. What were trying to persuade is if dogs or cats are the better pet. I think that dogs are the better pet. Today we started are graphic organizer which is putting notes on the graphic organizer, then put them into words in your essay. After writing Mr. Coley gave us some free time to do our homework. I finished my Lit. Circles job. My job was correspondent which is like writing a letter to someone else. The next thing I was going to do was practice three times each, but I realized that I didnít have to do that because Iím Roving Reporter. So basically I finished all my homework. When that was over we finished our Coley Casts.

 

Since we were done with our Coley Casts we listened to some of it. We didnít get to finish because it was 25minutes and recess was in about 15 minutes. At 11:15 we went to recess.

 

In recess we played basketball. We tried making long long 3s. Ethan, one of my friends, was the only one to make the 3. After recess at around11:35 we did Open house preparation.

 

We did the open house preparation because open house was tonight. We took out our state presentation boards, our Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe story maps, our parent essays, and our Fortunately and unfortunately poems. It was fun. We also cleaned out our desks. After we did that we had lunch.

 

At lunch I decided to do something new except play basketball. I played on the playground. We were all going down the slide fast. I was so fun I didnít want it to end. After lunch we had some 1st, 3rd, and 2nd graders see our boards. It was like a practice because we were getting ready for open house. The classes that came in were Mrs. Molino, Mrs. Woodcock, and Mr. Fanning. I new lots of the students
