It was a very cool morning, when I got to school around 8 o’clock. I played with my friends for awhile, then as soon as the bell rang, we lined up. After Mr. Coley let us in the classroom, we did our morning business. We pulled out our homework. We had to get a test signed and do a couple of worksheets about verbs.
Next, it was time for the Field of Honor field trip. We got on the bus and left at 9 o’clock sharp. We had different stations to visit. The first station was about the Medal of Honor and History of Flags. At station two we had to do a trivia game. We had to answer questions like “Did the flag ever change?” At the next station, we had to find names of people who died on cards that were attached to flag poles. We had to write down their names and date of death. At the fourth station, a Vietnam veteran named Bob told us about the wars in Vietnam and Iraq. We did a flag hunt at the last station. After the flag hunt, we got on the bus to go back to school.
When we got to school, we went out for recess. I played football with my friends. When recess was over, we came in and started on our grammar. Mr. Coley told us to get out our verb worksheets. We got our pens and graded it. I did ok.
Once we finished with grammar, we went to lunch. I brought a lunch because I don’t like their mac and cheese. After I was done eating, I went out to the field and played football with my friends. Then, the bell rang and we lined up.
When we got back from lunch, it was time to play Boggle! Boggle is a game with letters on a dice. So, we had to find words that were 3 letters or longer. The winner of the game was Ryan. Congratulations, Ryan!
After Boggle, it was time for Mr. Coley to read Where the Red Fern Grows to the class. It’s a book about a kid named Billy and his two dogs, Old Dan and Little Ann. The dogs are raccoon hunters.
Next, we went to the library. I took an AR quiz and I got 8 out of 10 questions right. Anyways, I’m reading a book called Across Five Aprils. I haven’t read a lot, but so far it is good. It was almost time to go home, so it was time for Mr. Coley to announce the quiet seat. Mr. Coley gave us a hint. He said “It is the name of an animal.” So, it was Cat. Then the bell rang and everyone left for the day.
