Reported by Gavin
Hi. I am Gavin. I am today’s roving reporter. This is what happened in our class today, in room 34.
Right when we got inside the classroom first thing in the morning we started the Dma. The Dma was a little hard in some parts, and a little easy in other parts of it. Here is an example sentence from our Dma: you can sea their work between November 1, and thanksgiving. That was one of the example sentences.
Next, we had spelling, and the new jobs. My new job was paper. I got to pass out the paper for a spelling pretest. Last week I didn’t have a job, but I like to have a job because then I get money to spend at the classroom store. The classroom store has things like chessboards, cheetos, and all kinds of other things for us to buy.
After spelling we moved on to reading. Right now we are not reading a story. This is because, we did not have enough time to read a story. We did not have enough time because we were so busy doing the vocabulary key. We were doing the vocabulary words on the story Mae Jemison; the Space Scientist. The homework sheet that went with the vocabulary key was the word web. My two words were satellite, and space shuttle.
Then we did social studies. Social studies was good because it is one of my favorite subjects. Today in social studies we worked on pages 51-52. This was only for the people that did not finish it from yesterday. A lot of people didn’t finish it. Unfortunately I was one of the people who did not finish in time.
When we finished social studies, we had recess in class today because of the rain. It was pretty awesome because we were inside our classroom and the teacher wasn’t there [an aide was present to supervise]. The kids got to eat a snack inside the classroom usually we are not allowed to eat in the classroom. It was raining today, so we were allowed.
Math was next. We got our math stuff out and went to our math class. Math seemed to go by fast. Mrs. Becker said it could snow tonight. I was hoping it would because it obviously never snows in Murrieta. Our class is divided in two groups. One third of it is advanced. The rest is not advanced. I am on the not advanced side. Soon math was over and math was the fastest time in the day. There is only an hour and thirty minutes of Math.
When we left math and walked back to the classroom and packed up our things. The day seemed to go so fast because it was raining. It rained so hard all day. When it rains after it has been sunny, I like it because of the different weather. Mr. Coley seemed like he was in a very good mood today. Maybe he likes the rain too. That is the end of my roving reporter article.
