Reported by Myles

Hi my name is Myles and I will be your Roving Reporter for today. I woke up this morning, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got dressed for the day. I went down stairs and ate Honey Bunches of Oats for breakfast. I packed my backpack with my homework folder, and money for lunch. My mother, sister and I got into the car and drove to school. The first thing I did at school was play football with my friends Sheyenne, Quin, and Mario. It was really fun! The bell finally rang and it was time to go to class.
When we went into D.M.A we started language. In language we started a new segment about a farmer. The first sentence is when the farmer’s goose laid a golden egg. In the second sentence the farmer yelled I’m rich! I’m really rich! After that, we moved into analogies. Our first analogy was ninth: forth::______ tenth. Our second analogy was arid: desert :: soggy_____. My answer for the first one was fifth, but it was fifteenth and my second answer for analogy 2 was soaked, and I got that right. [Editor's note: The answer to the second analogy is "marsh" or "swamp."] Finally, I moved into geography. Our question for geography was which state is larger Missouri or Maryland? I put Missouri. When I looked in my social studies book Maryland was not close to Missouri.

Next, Mr. Coley introduced a new book called The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe. We haven’t read the book yet, but I’ve seen the movie and it’s really good. Afterwards we did a vocabulary sheet that had fifteen words.

Finally, IT WAS RECESS! At recess I played football with my best friends. My team won 42-35. It was fantastic.

When recess was over we did a wanted poster. On our wanted poster we had to take a Christmas character and pretend that they did a silly crime. For example, my criminal was a nutcracker and you know how they bite nuts to crack them, well he thought 6 year old Tommy’s finger was a nut and bit his finger. The nutcracker was wearing a red shirt and a black hat with black pants. Tommy was wearing the same except he was wearing a blue shirt, but no black hat. Back to the vocabulary. We had to choose one word to do a poster on and my friend JoJo and I did the word dominion which means a territory under the control of one ruler of government. Then I drew the word in block letters and colored it purple, yellow, blue, orange, and pink. It actually turned out pretty good. Then we had to do a sentence, and a picture.

At 12:45 we went to lunch. I bought lunch and had chicken nuggets and a chocolate chip cookie. It was yummy and delicious. Next, I played football again and we won 56-48, but it wasn’t done yet. We had about 5 or 10 minutes until lunch was over.

When lunch was over we waited for Mr. Coley to open the door. We went inside packed up our homework to put in our backpacks and looked on the floor to see if there was trash. In my area there was no trash. There was nothing else to do, we were dismissed 3 or 4 minutes before the bell rang.

Well that’s all for today, and I hope you enjoyed today’s Roving Reporter by Myles.
